Volusia County condo damaged in fire

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A condominium in Volusia County was damaged in a fire Sunday morning.

The fire broke out shortly after 11:00 a.m. in a unit at the Windemere Shores condo complex near Ormond Beach. The condos are located at 2600 Ocean Shore Boulevard.

Fire rescue officials say people on the beach noticed smoke coming from the condo and called 911.

Once on scene, an active fire was located in a second floor unit. The fire has since been put out and crews are assessing the damage.

It appears everyone escaped the fire and no one was injured.
