Driver killed in deadly Volusia County crash, troopers say

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened in Volusia County.

The crash occurred Friday around 2:50 p.m. on Interstate 95 near State Road 421 in Port Orange.

Witnesses told troopers that a Honda Civic traveling southbound on I-95 made an improper lane change and crashed in the rear of a Honda CRV.

The driver of the Civic lost control of the car, which left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The 30-year-old female was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said the 25-year-old female driver and the two passengers in the CRV were not injured in the crash.

This crash remains under investigation.
