Suspect in shooting death of Daytona Beach woman found dead from apparent suicide

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Michael Guardino, the only suspect in the shooting death of a Daytona Beach woman, was found dead Sunday afternoon.

Daytona Beach police told Eyewitness News his body was discovered at a gas station at Glenview and A1A. Investigators said the cause of death appeared to be suicide.

Police identified Guardino as the suspect in the Saturday shooting death of 24-year-old Victoria Akers. Investigators said she intervened in an argument between one of her friends and Guardino.
