• Volusia man wanted in deadly hit-and-run turns self in

    VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. - A Volusia County man wanted in a deadly hit-and-run crash has turned himself in.

    Joseph Bompadre, 43, of New Smyrna Beach, turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday night.

    Bompadre is accused of hitting and killing 75-year-old Telvy Acosta, on South Ridgewood Avenue in Edgewater on Monday night.

    Police have not yet said what charges Bompadre will face.
