ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A broken water main is causing traffic problems on an Orange County road Wednesday.
Raw sewage gushing from the break closed the southbound lanes of Winter Garden Vineland Road (State Road 535) near Equestrian Drive in the Disney area in the early morning hours.
Traffic is being diverted into the northbound lanes.
"It takes waste water from this region of the county and transmits it to our water reclamation facility," Troy Layton with Orange County utilities said.
Crews were still working to repair the line Wednesday afternoon.
Officials don't know what caused the water line to break and said they hope to have it repaired and the road completely open sometime Wednesday night.
WFTV reporter Racquel Asa said drivers can use Apopka-Vineland Road as an alternate.
Orange County Utilities said it hopes to reopen the southbound lane of 535 Wednesday night.
