We don't work there: Playboy playmates, models sue Tampa strip club over use of images

TAMPA, Fla. — A group of 11 women have filed a federal lawsuit against a Tampa strip club, claiming the business used their images illegally in advertising campaigns.

The plaintiffs include several Playboy centerfolds, TV personalities, a former police officer and Miami Dolphins cheerleader, and the 2006 Miss World Colombia, according to a civil complaint filed Tuesday.

The suit claims 2001Live, Inc., doing business as 2001 Odyssey, used their images without permission to advertise upcoming adult-themed shows and events online and in print.

None of the women suing the strip club have ever worked for 2001 Odyssey and all say the use of their image has damaged their career, the suit claims.

The plaintiffs include (as listed in the lawsuit):

Jamie Edmondson, a Florida Atlantic University graduate, former Boca Raton police officer, former Miami Dolphins cheerleader and contestant on “The Amazing Race 14.” She is married to Tampa Bay Rays star Evan Longoria, with whom she has two children.

Brooke Banx, a professional model who has been featured in numerous men’s magazines and national advertising campaigns. She has also been in music videos, movies and reality shows. Banx is currently attending medical school.

Jessica Burciaga, a model and business owner who has appeared in magazines like Playboy, Maxim, Import Tuner and Lowrider Magazine. She also owns several businesses, including an online clothing boutique and a brand of hair extensions.

Justene Jaro, a professional model and actress who has appeared in Lowrider and Modified magazines and has been featured in several international lingerie catalogues and major music videos.
