Widow of slain Kissimmee officer sworn in as FDLE special agent

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — The widow of a Kissimmee police officer recently killed in the line of duty was sworn in as a special agent with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Monday.

Sadia Baxter's husband, police Officer Matthew Baxter, was with Kissimmee Sgt. Sam Howard responding to a call when they were allegedly shot by Everett Miller.

Sadia Baxter was also an officer with the Kissimmee Police Department before being hired by the FDLE.

The agency said she had been given the job before her husband was killed.
