Window-washing Santa, elves surprise patients at Nemours Children's Hospital

LAKE NONA, Fla. — Patients at Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando got a special surprise outside their windows Thursday.

Karlee Graham, 14, has been a patient at Nemours for two weeks, and her mother said she has four more weeks to go.

“It’s really exciting to see how much they care about coming to visit these kids who are stuck here for the holidays. It just means a lot,” said Karlee’s mother, Jennifer Nielsen.

“It’s just cool to pee people taking time to do this type of thing for kids like me,” Karlee said.

One of the Elves and hospital window washer, Ed Meza, said they do it for the “sheer look on the kids’ faces when they see us out there, and the joy we provide them.”

“Today is a little special, because we are giving a little cheer to the children,“ Meza said.

Meza said he and the window washing crew also dress up as superheroes during the summer.
