Deputies: Missing baby in Winter Garden found safe with father

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 1-year-old who was believed to be abducted from his Winter Garden home Sunday morning has been found safe with his father, according to Orange County deputies.

Officials said the baby was found with his father, Carlos Martinez, around 12:15 p.m. Investigators have not said where they were found.

According to deputies, the child was abducted from a home on Summer Street in Winter Garden around 4 a.m. A statewide amber alert was issued shortly after 10 a.m., but it has since been canceled.

The mother discovered the baby was missing and called 911 after being awakened by a noise, deputies said. Investigators said they found signs of forced entry at the home, leading them to believe the baby has been abducted.

Deputies said there is an ongoing custody dispute bewteen the child's mother and father. At this point, Martinez is not facing any charges stemming from the incident.
