Winter Springs bank robbery suspect to face judge

OVIEDO, Fla. — A suspected bank Winter Springs robber will face a judge Tuesday.

Police said the man was being sought in connection to a Bank of America robbery at State Road 434 and Moss Road Monday.

According to police, Kilpatrick Holton walked into the bank around 4 p.m. and demanded money.  After receiving the money, Holton fled the area in a PT Cruiser.

That car was later spotted on State Road 434 and was reported to be a stolen vehicle from Georgia. Witnesses said the car had been involved in a minor traffic crash at State Road 434 near State Road 417.

Oviedo police said Holton hit a deputy's patrol car at Sweetwater Creek and North Central Avenue in Oviedo earlier in the day and fled.

A Seminole County deputy and Winter Springs police officer were able to box the driver in and arrest him.

No injuries were reported.

Police arrested Holton, 42, and charged him with robbery, grand theft, fleeing and eluding, and leaving the scene of a traffic crash.

Holton was booked into the Seminole County Jail.
