Woman arrested, accused of stealing phone from 12-year-old


KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Kissimmee police said they have arrested a 21-year-old woman who snatched a cellphone from a child and then threatened her earlier this month.

According to investigators, as the young girl was walking home from school, Juanita Davis asked to use her phone. When she refused, Davis took the phone from her and refused to return it.

According to police, Davis then threatened the girl and Davis' boyfriend, Jaheed John, 17, then pointed a gun at the girl.

Police said as the girl tried to run away, two female juveniles jumped her and battered her.

According to police, Davis was arrested Wednesday and charged with robbery by sudden snatching, assault, child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

She was booked into the Osceola County Jail on an $18,000 bond.

John was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a concealed firearm and possession of a firearm by a minor. He was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
