Woman finds shooting victim on her doorstep in Osceola County

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — An Osceola County woman said a man who had been shot knocked on her front door for help Saturday morning and when she went inside to call 911, the victim disappeared.

Someone drove the shooting victim to Florida Hospital Kissimmee, where he is in critical condition, according to investigators.

The homeowner who found the man on her doorstep didn't want to be identified, but discussed the incident with WFTV.

"I heard a couple of pop shots," the woman said.

She said shots were fired just before she heard someone knocking on her front door. The man was found on the ground and he told the woman he had been shot.

"(He said) call the, they're trying to kill me, they're trying to kill me, they're trying to kill me," the woman said.

The homeowner went back inside and dialed 911 while still hearing gunshots. Deputies said when she returned, the shooting victim had disappeared.

Officials haven't said who drove the victim to the hospital. The man hasn't been identified and no suspect information has been released by the sheriff's office.

"I hope they catch them because they left shell casings behind," the woman said.
