Woman gives birth to 14.5-pound baby girl

MASSACHUSETTS — A Massachusetts mother woman gave birth to a 14.5-pound baby.

Carisa Ruscak is the biggest infant delivered at Massachusetts General Hospital in 12 years, and she is the largest in the state this year.

Carisa's dad said he took a picture of the scale in disbelief.

Carisa's mother, Caroline Ruscak said, "I heard the weight and I was like, 'Oh my God.' It validated me because I was in a lot of pain when I was pregnant, so to hear the size, it made sense."

Carisa was also long, measuring at nearly two feet.

She has an older sibling who weighed 10.5 pounds at birth.
