Woman injured when Titusville man snatches purse in grocery store parking lot, police say

TITUSVILLE, Fla. — A Titusville man is behind bars after police say he forcefully snatched a woman’s purse Saturday morning, injuring her, in a Winn Dixie parking lot, police said.

Christopher Braun, 25, was arrested after allegedly snatching the woman’s purse in the Winn Dixie parking lot at 1564 Harrison St. around 9 a.m., police said.

A preliminary investigation revealed Braun approached the woman in the parking lot and grabbed her purse before fleeing in a car, police said.

Police found the suspect traveling east on Cheney Highway within minutes and pulled the man over without incident.

The woman was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Braun is facing charges of aggravated battery against a person over 65, robbery by sudden snatching, violation of felony probation, destruction of evidence, petty theft and driving with a suspended license.

He’s being held in the Brevard County jail.
