OCALA, Fla. — Neighbors rescued a woman after her home caught fire Saturday, according to Marion County Fire Rescue.
Firefighters responded to the burning home on the 12000 block of U.S. 27 northwest of Ocala after a caller said it was engulfed in flames with a woman inside.
About 50 percent of the home was in flames when firefighters arrived shortly after 5:30 p.m.
Neighbors found the 58-year-old resident of the home close to the front porch and were able to move her to safety.
Paramedics treated her at the scene before transporting her as a trauma alert to a hospital, firefighters said.
Firefighters did not describe the extent of the woman’s injuries.
Firefighters got the house fire under control shortly after 6 p.m.
The state fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
