Woman scams Ocoee war vet out of thousands, reports show

OCOEE, Fla. — A woman is in jail, accused of scamming more than half a million dollars from an Ocoee war veteran.

Investigators said Christy Pribble befriended an 89-year-old man after she met him through a connection at an Ocoee Veterans of Foreign Wars hall.

Reports show Pribble forged more than $665,000 worth of checks for her and her friends from 2008 to 2013.

The man is highly decorated and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War Two, and then in in the U.S. Air Force for 28 years.

The man’s son called police when he figured out what was going on.
