Woman sentenced to more than 14 years in prison for robbing 3 banks

OCALA, Fla. — A Florida woman has been sentenced to more than 14 years in federal prison for robbing three banks in a case where she was identified by one of her own friends.
 
A federal judge last week imposed the sentence on 53-year-old Renita Mount Rayner of Tampa. She pleaded guilty earlier this year to robbing banks in Ocala, St. Petersburg and Dunedin between August and November 2013.
 
The three robberies netted Rayner just over $8,000.
 
The FBI says a key to the case was a friend of Rayner's who recognized her and her red Honda car from a bank surveillance tape that was released to the media.
 
Investigators also matched her DNA to a wig worn in one robbery and a fingerprint on a note handed to a teller.
