Woman shot by ex-husband in Orlando karaoke bar attack, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. — Just after midnight Friday, Orlando police officers received a call of a shooting at an Orlando karaoke bar in the area of Colonial Drive and Mills Avenue, officials said.

When they arrived at the business, Thanh Thao Karaoke Lounge, officers found furniture thrown around a woman who had been shot four times in the chest, the Orlando Police Department said.

The shooting victim was not identified.

She was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Investigators said the shooting suspect, later identified as her ex-husband, Tu Quoc Ho, 43, was at the scene when officers arrived and was arrested.

According to an OPD police report, officers initially found Ho calmly sitting in the karaoke bar with another man.

Ho and the victim are co-owners of the karaoke bar, police said.

The four witnesses, including Ho, who was not a suspect at that point, were not being helpful with the investigation, the report said.

“The information from the individuals out back (of the business) was vague and inconsistent, and many times their responses were, ‘I did not see anything,’” it said.

When the victim was able to give a statement to police, she claimed it was Ho who shot her over an argument they were having about the business, the report said.

While searching in and around the business, investigators reported finding a black trash bag with a 9mm Ruger inside.

An officer walking along the side of the building reported seeing Ho place the trash bag into a garbage bin, the report said.

Ho was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder with a firearm, aggravated battery with a firearm, tampering with physical evidence and domestic battery.

He was being held without bond at the Orange County Jail.
