Woman critical after being shot in Titusville; No arrests made

TITUSVILLE, Fla. — Police in Titusville said they are looking for a gunman who fired a shot that left a woman in critical condition late Thursday night.

Emergency workers went to a home on Talmage Drive about 11 p.m. to find a woman with a gunshot wound in the head lying outside the door.

Authorities said the unidentified victim was responsive and was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition.

Detectives released a picture of a gold-colored car they believe the gunman used to make his getaway. Channel 9's Melonie Holt was told investigators have stopped a few cars matching the description, including one in Volusia County, but no arrests have been made.

Police said they think the victim may have been targeted, but they're not saying if they have a possible motive for the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Titusville Police Department.
