Assailant at large after stabbing woman in Apopka apartment, deputies say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A stabbing at an Orange County apartment complex Friday has atleast one renter thinking twice about staying there.

Deputies said a domestic dispute sparked the violence and sent a 53-year-old woman to the hospital.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has roped the area of with crime scene tape as they continue to investigate.

Deputies said the woman knows her attacker.

Orange County deputies went to the Marden Meadows apartments just after 12:30 p.m. for a well-being check. When they arrived, they found the woman with a stab wound.

“We heard her screaming and we didn’t know what was going on,” said one resident, who asked to remain anonymous.

The victim was taken to a hospital and her injuries are not life threatening, deputies said.

The person who attacked the woman, who deputies believe is known to the victim, is still at large.

Deputies have not said what led to the attack.

Edwin Torres, who has lived at the complex for eight years, said his kids play in the area where the woman was found.

“Of course there be arguments and stuff. But a stabbing, it’s time for us to go,” Torres said.
