Woman struck by lightning while boating near Ormond Beach

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — A woman was struck by lightning while boating in the intercostal in Ormond Beach Saturday afternoon, Volusia County Fire Rescue said.

The woman was struck around 4 p.m. near High Bridge Road in the intercostal, firefighters said.

The woman was transported to Halifax hospital as a trauma patient.

Firefighters did not know her condition.

No further information will be released at this time.
