Traffic delays following Daytona 500 race

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — There are heavy traffic delays in the Daytona Beach area as thousands of fans leave the Daytona 500 race.

Traffic on I-4 westbound in Volusia County is heavy, with some congestion near the U.S. 92 exit. The heaviest traffic is on International Speedway Boulevard near the Speedway.

On westbound U.S. 92 near LPGA Boulevard, traffic is down to a crawl. The roadway has only one lane open because of construction.

To avoid U.S. 92 traffic, troopers said drivers should use Tomoka Farms Road or LPGA Boulevard to get to the highway.
