Nearly $100,000 raised for SPCA at 'Paws in the Park'

ORLANDO, Fla. — Thousands of people participated in the 19th annual 'Paws in the Park' walk at Lake Eola Saturday morning.

Participants walked their dogs around Lake Eola for the fundraising event, which began at 10:30 a.m.

The yearly walk raises money to help the SPCA find permanent homes for thousands of dogs and cats.

Officials said more 3,000 people participated and more than $90,000 was raised during the event Saturday.

The walk is sponsored by 9 Family Connection and was emceed by chief meteorologist Tom Terry.
