Acid Bombs Found At Palm Bay Homes

PALM BAY, Fla. —

Palm Bay Police are trying to figure out who left several acid bombs around the city. The homemade explosives were found underneath cars at two homes early Saturday morning.

There were no injuries and only minor damage, but officials say an acid bomb could be extremely harmful if a person was nearby when one exploded.

The bombs were left at one house around 2:30am Saturday and the other about an hour later. Residents say they heard a car speed away each time. When they went outside, they found plastic bottles that had exploded in their driveway.

Police do not know who is responsible for the acid bombs, but suspect it may be high school students because one of the victims is said to be a local high school employee.

Just last weekend, Brevard County deputies found five acid bombs on the streets of Mims. Officials still don’t know who is responsible for those explosives.
