ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —
VIDEO REPORT: P.I. Gave Conflicting Statements READ TRANSCRIPT: Detectives Interview Dominic Casey
Dominic Casey first told investigators what he first told Eyewitness News, that he had gone to the scene on November 15 merely to determine whether it was a teen hangout as one of Casey's old friends had said. But Dominic Casey could not explain what relevance that would have, since it had been years since Casey was a teenager.
Then, Dominic Casey told investigators he got a call from a psychic the same morning he'd planned to go there that Caylee's remains were in the woods.
Dominic Casey also gave conflicting reports as to who he was talking to on the phone. First it was a psychic, then, when he was asked about talking to his sick daughter, which is what he first told Eyewitness News, he added his daughter to the list of people he was talking to at the scene.
Dominic Casey also told investigators he went to a house nearby based on the psychic tip to look in the culvert, but the video does not show him at the culvert; it shows him digging and poking right next to the house.
The Anthonys' private eye also told investigators, under oath, that he did not know he was being videotaped by another private investigator, Jim Hoover, although at times it looks as though he's being videotaped from close up. Mr. Casey called Hoover a "sneaky devil."
The Anthonys' private investigator revealed to detectives in January that he had three separate contracts for his work and one of them was with Casey herself, starting last September, but he said he did not come to the scene based on any information he got directly from Casey. If he had, that could have been privileged information for the defense only and not for detectives or the public.
The statement was the first Dominic Casey gave to investigators. There's a second one that the judge hasn't decided whether to release yet.
HEART STICKER, JOURNAL ENTRY AMONG NEW EVIDENCE RELEASED
Evidence discovered in the woods where Florida toddler Caylee Anthony's remains were found last December (see woods evidence) match items found in the house where she lived (see house evidence), according to court documents released Wednesday.
The documents released by the State Attorney's Office reveal several new details about the case of the Orlando girl who was missing for a month before authorities were notified.

Caylee's mother, Casey Anthony, has been charged with her daughter's murder. She claims that Caylee was kidnapped by a baby sitter and has pleaded not guilty.
One of the most disturbing things that was released Wednesday was a page from Casey's diary dated June 21 (read journal entry), where she wrote, "This is the happiest I have been in a very long time. I hope that my happiness will continue to grow."
Casey also wrote that she had "no regrets, just a bit worried. I just want for everything to work out okay. I completely trust my own judgment and knew that I made the right decision. I just hope that the end justifies the means. I just want to know what the future will hold for me. I guess I will soon see."
The same types of laundry bag, duct tape and plastic bag discovered at the crime scene also were found by investigators in the house where Caylee lived with her mother and grandparents, according to detectives' reports on the evidence.
Caylee's grandmother waited until after her remains were found to tell investigators Caylee's Winnie the Pooh blanket was missing from her bed. It could be the same Pooh blanket found with Caylee's remains.
Cindy also told investigators something that could link her to the videotape taken at the scene by her private investigators a month before Caylee's remains were found there and could link Casey to the scene. In December, Cindy told investigators she sent someone to the remains scene in November to search and that there was nothing in the area then, but the new documents show that Caylee's skull had been in the same place for quite some time.
Investigators also took a number of Cindy's prescription medicines and Caylee's in December and are testing Caylee's remains for all of them. Investigators also found mysterious stains on patio furniture and a rug at the Anthonys' home, which is less than a mile from where the remains were found. Those are also being tested.
Along with a skull and bones, investigators found the stained Winnie the Pooh blanket, a pink-and-white-striped shorts and a shirt that said 'BIG TROUBLE Comes Small" in the woods at the crime scene. The skull had duct tape over the mouth similar to duct tape found at the Anthony house and the remains were found in a laundry bag and plastic bag that also were similar to ones found at the home, according to the documents.
Marti Mackenzie, a spokeswoman for Casey Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, said in an e-mail that the detectives' reports were "biased and speculative."
"You can't sell a defense that someone else did it when the evidence is excluding those individuals and becoming consistent with the mother in this case," said WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer.

In a statement, Baez and defense co-counsel Linda Kenney Baden said that the brand of duct tape was the most widely sold in the United States and that it was significant that no fingerprints were found on the duct tape.
Also seized from the home were heart-shaped stickers. A heart-shaped sticker was found on the duct tape that covered the mouth of the skull found with Caylee's remains, according to detectives.
The report didn't say whether the sticker found at the crime scene was identical to the stickers found at the home, and Baez in a statement disputed that a sticker was on the duct tape found on the skull.
Other documents released Wednesday show Casey Anthony hyperventilated and asked for medication when she was notified that her daughter's body had been found last December.
The documents also feature interviews by detectives that reveal the tense relationship between Casey Anthony and her parents, George and Cindy Anthony.
Casey Anthony once told her friend, Annie Downing, that her mother was a "horrible person" who tried to control her life. Downing also told investigators that she believed Casey Anthony was jealous of her mother's relationship with Caylee and that Cindy Anthony was trying to assume the role of Caylee's mother.
Downing also told investigators that Casey Anthony lied to everyone she knew and that she stole from friends and family members. In 2006 or 2007, Casey Anthony told Downing and another friend, Michelle Murphy, that she was having a breakdown and wanted to be committed to an institution. Casey Anthony never mentioned having a breakdown again, Downing said.
