Apopka CVS Is 81st Pharmacy Robbed This Year

APOPKA, Fla. —

Apopka police were searching for a man who robbed a CVS pharmacy while wearing a Halloween mask about 10 a.m. Friday morning.

The robbery marks the 81st pharmacy robbery in Central Florida in 2008. It’s the second time in two weeks the Apopka CVS has been hit.

Today’s robber used a knife in the crime. He was caught on surveillance video slipping into the mask. Police do not have a good description of the man.

He was seen running westbound when he left the store and police were using dogs and helicopters to try and track him down. Police say he got away with money and cigarettes.

Police haven't yet linked this robbery to the previous one because the most recent suspect appears to be taller than the suspect in the first crime. But officers note both suspects stole Newport cigarettes from the store.

Police are warning people not to enter stores wearing masks.
