Autopsy Scheduled For Nurse Found Slain

INDIALANTIC, Fla. —

The Brevard County Medical Examiner is scheduled to perform an autopsy Wednesday on an Indialantic nurse whose body was found along a beach access trail Tuesday morning. So far, investigators have not identified any suspects in the killing.

Investigators said they found evidence that linked the body, identified as 46-year-old Kelly Brennan, to a home on 8th Avenue. The woman who owns the home, Sheila Graham Trott, is the estranged wife of the former Mayor of Indialantic, Daniel Trott.

Sheriff's deputies found Brennan's body Tuesday morning along a beach access trail in the 6000-block of South A-1-A near Floridana beach. Wednesday's autopsy could pinpoint how the woman was killed, but details have yet to be released.

Crime scene technicians marked tire tracks in the sand near where Brennan's body was found. Investigators said she and the Trotts belonged to a group that trained for triathlons together. Brennan's black Honda SUV was found overnight in the parking lot of a condominium complex in Indialantic within a few miles of Sheila Graham Trott's home.

Eyewitness News confirmed that Brennan was a nurse at Holmes Regional Medical Center who cared for patients recovering from heart surgery.

Investigators said they have not made any arrests in the case, nor would they identify any suspects at this point. Sources think Brennan may have been in a relationship with former Indialantic Mayor Daniel Trott.

Trott, according to court records, is in the middle of a divorce.

The victim lived at a home with her husband in Melbourne until recently separating and moving into a home in Indialantic.
