Boone H.S. Student Killed In Rollover Crash

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —

As students at Boone High School in Orlando headed to class Monday morning they will remember a fellow student who died.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say 17-year-old Brandon Wise died Saturday morning after the SUV he was driving flipped. Wise was driving on Michigan Street when he tried to make a turn onto Center Avenue and crashed, flipping the SUV several times.

Six passengers were injured. A friend who was in the car at the time of the crash says Wise should not have died.

"He was in the driver's seat with his seat-belt on, and my friend was in the passenger seat with his seat-belt on. Those two should have been the only two to survive. They had their seat-belts on. They were perfectly fine," said Briana Rodriguez, victim's friend.

A family friend says Wise was just trying to help out and take some friends home.

Wise worked at the McDonald's at Dean Road and Curry Ford Road. The business is donating 10 percent of its sales between 5:00pm and 9:00pm Wednesday to his family.
