Channel 9 Obtains Violent Threat Letter Targeting Orlando Police

Channel 9 obtained the letter that started an FBI investigation into the Orlando Police Department late Thursday afternoon. The letter threatens officers with blood, snipers and war.

The author is angry and wants justice served; if not, someone will pay the price. The letter says that if OPD doesn't arrest an officer accused of pushing a woman down the stairs, a sniper will target cops and "blood will … flow like the river Jordan."

Channel 9 obtained the actual death threat letter written to the Orlando Police Department. The letter is typewritten in all caps and signed "The Vigilantes."

The anonymous writer is upset with the way the Orlando Police Department handled Fernando Trinidad's case. The person feels Trinidad should be criminally charged after he pushed Jessica Asprilla down the stairs last year at what was then Club Paris.

The letter states, "Any non-police man or woman would have been beat almost to death by police if situation reversed, then arrested and sent to prison."

The writer goes on say if Trinidad is not arrested and convicted then Orlando police officers will be targeted. "The D.C. snipers will look pale in comparison."

It then goes on to say, "It will be sad for you … to save one corrupt piece of garbage when the tears starts to flow they will flow for a long time."

Eyewitness News made repeated attempts to get a comment from the chief, but was told to talk to the FBI.
