ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —
The crash knocked out power to more than 3,000 Progress Energy customers when the driver of a corvette crashed into a power pole in the Williamsburg area near SeaWorld.
Witnesses say they saw the driver, identified as 41-year-old Larry Brewer, was street racing. He was driving on a suspended license according to the Florida Highway Patrol, for not paying child support. Officers said there was a passenger in the car who is in serious condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC).

Investigators are trying to determine if Brewer was drunk, street racing or both when he crashed the 2009 yellow corvette and knocked out power to the surrounding area.
Residents who live along Orangewood Boulevard heard the crash before the neighborhood went dark.
"All of the sudden there was this big 'ole crash, and then, 'boom,' lights out," said Jay Strantz, witness.
Brewer was located at the scene and later transported to ORMC. A blood sample was taken at the hospital to determine his blood-alcohol level.
Troopers say there may be a witness who shot video of the yellow corvette street race in the minutes before the crash that downed power lines and created a dangerous situation for rescue workers.
"I come running out back, I see people all over yelling, live wires down and everything, and later we realized the car was over there in the tree," said Strantz.
Power and cable crews spent more than 12 hours fixing the damage. Progress Energy said that power was restored Monday morning.
Troopers are waiting for final lab results on the potential DUI charge.
