Dance Teacher Who Drugged, Molested Girls Gets Six Years

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. —

All the little girls wanted to do was dance, but he wanted more and he was willing to drug innocent Seminole County girls to get it.

George Fagan committed some of the worst sex crimes in Central Florida and he was given one of the lightest sentences. Fagan was sentenced Wednesday to just six and a half years in prison even though he abused young students for a very long time.

Fagan's victims said they would testify, but just wanted to get it behind them and agreed to a plea deal.

At one time, the popular dance teacher was accused of raping eight and police think there are many more that just don't want to come forward. Eyewitness News talked to one of Fagan's victims for the first time Wednesday who has been waiting for this emotional day.

Fagan Victim Linda Reideman 111908 Watch Interview With Victim Emotion poured from Linda Riedeman. She had been waiting over a year for this day. A young woman now, Fagan handpicked her when she was 11 years old to dance at his Lake Mary studio. When she turned 15, that relationship turned inappropriate.

"I've been through two years of counseling," she told Eyewitness News.

When she watched him handcuffed and sentenced to prison, a strict probation and the title of sex offender for life, it was therapeutic. Linda said she is content with the six and half years Fagan will spend behind bars, punishment others viewed as lenient.

"I would have just been happy as long as he couldn't get to other girls to do the same things to them," Linda said. "I just wanted to make sure the sex offender title was there."

Police said Fagan would "find young girls, wait for them to develop, gain trust and move in," grooming them, police said, by saying, "I bet you're a freak in bed."

Fagan would take the girls to a Lake Mary Hilton where he would rent pornographic movies and give them ecstasy, which he called a truth pill. He also rented an apartment at the Plantation complex where police believe many of the three-way encounters would happen with fellow dance instructor Gillian Lopez. The girls were so drugged at times, they told police, they couldn't raise their head off the pillow.

"I spoke up and I did what I had to do for those other girls who are still at the studio," Linda said.

There were a handful of Fagan supporters who also wanted to witness the once-beloved dance instructor get cuffed and hauled to jail.

"He taught me things in my life that will never be taken away from me," Fagan supporter Hector Rivera Jr. said. "I appreciate everything you did for me, Georgio. I love you very much."

There is a co-defendant in this case, the other dance instructor, Gillian Lopez. She left the country and has not been seen since.

A lot of times victims in similar cases can go back and sue their attacker and his insurance policy. But the victims in the Fagan case aren't interested, saying they want their ordeal with Fagan to be over and, in a civil case, they wouldn't get a choice and they would have to testify.
