A horse was safely rescued from out of a pool around 6:30 p.m. today, a fire rescue spokesman said.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews were dispatched to 2317 Fawn Drive, north of Southern Boulevard and west of Seminole Pratt Whitney Road, in Loxahatchee just before 4:30 p.m. in response to a hazardous condition.

The resident of the home opened the gate which caused the horse to jump the fence and land in a pool, said fire rescue spokesman Capt. Albert Borroto.

The 911 caller advised that the horse’s head was above the water, he added.
