ORLANDO, Fla. —
Flight 1247 was on its way from Boston to Tampa, when passengers smelled something burning. The pilots decided to land as soon as possible.
The Embraer 190 is less than a year old and had 83 passengers on-board.
The crew had to turn off the ventilation system to stop the fire. It made it very uncomfortable on the plane and storms made for a rough ride.
"Everyone had to put their hands on the seat and brace, in case there was a crash landing," said a passenger.
Channel 9 spoke to many of the passengers in baggage claim. They seemed the most angry about the lack of information in the air.
Jet Blue says it will calculate how long the passengers were delayed and possibly give them travel vouchers.
The 83 passengers were transported by bus to Tampa.
Mechanics examined the plane Tuesday, to try to figure out what caught fire.
