Judge Belvin Perry Jr. to seek re-election

ORLANDO, Fla. —

Judge Belvin Perry Jr. announced Tuesday that he will seek re-election in 2012 to the Office of Circuit Judge, Group 3.

Perry is best known for presiding over the Casey Anthony murder trial in summer 2011.

Judge Perry is seeking his fifth term in this position. Orange and Osceola county residents will vote for this position on August 14, 2012.

A native of Orlando, Judge Perry graduated from Jones High School and later attended Tuskegee University where he received a Bachelor of Science in History in 1972 and a Master of Education in Student Personnel Services in 1974. He went on to study law at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law where he received his Jurist Doctor in 1977.
