FACES OF CASEY: Recent To Oldest

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —

In the case against Casey Anthony a judge could decide in May whether Casey's brother, Lee Anthony, will be forced to answer questions in a defamation suit against her.

On February 27 Casey's brother Lee Anthony gave a deposition for the defamation lawsuit filed by Zeneida Gonzalez. Gonzalez filed a lawsuit because she has the same name as a mystery nanny that Casey blamed for Caylee's disappearance.

However, during the deposition, Lee did not answer two questions. The attorney for Zenaida Gonzalez, Keith Mitnik filed a motion (Read Motion) to try to force Lee to answer questions about Caylee's father and whether he believes his sister is involved in Caylee's death.

CASEY ATTORNEYS QUESTION ORANGE COUNTY DEPUTY

Orange County deputy Richard Cain was questioned under oath Friday by Casey Anthony's defense team about his search at the scene where Caylee Anthony's remains were found in August.

Deputy Richard Cain was called to the East Orange County crime scene months before Caylee Anthony's remains were found, but he didn't find them.

VIDEO REPORT: Deputy Questioned

Cain has already lost his badge, and his gun. He could lose his job over the incident as well.

Richard Cain could help the defense immensely, depending on what he tells them. In dismissing Kronk's August tip as unfounded; he gives the defense a hook to argue Caylee's remains were not in the woods off Suburban Drive in August.

Casey Anthony's defense team showed up at the state attorney's office. The target is a deputy who said he did not find Caylee Anthony's remains at the scene in August.

Deputy Richard Cain met meter reader Roy kronk at the scene off Suburban Drive, where Caylee was later found on August 13 at 3:30 in the afternoon.

He spent less than 25 minutes searching the area where Kronk had reported seeing a vinyl bag of some kind and a round white object that Kronk said didn't look right. And Kronk told ABC's Good Morning America that Deputy Cain told him he was wasting the county's time.

In December, Kronk drew a map for investigators, indicating he believed he was in the exact same place in August as he was in December when he actually did find Caylee's remains.

Since then a prosecution expert concludes that the plant and root growth in the area indicates Caylee's remains had been there at least since August and quite possibly since June.

Kronk told investigators when he went back in December, he went to the same area where a tree had fallen over. He saw a round object, hit it with a stick, heard a thud, so he used the stick to pull open the bag and that's when he saw the little skull with duct tape still across the mouth.

Deputy Cain has been under internal investigation since December. His gun, badge and patrol car were taken away in January.

Friday, the Sheriff's office said the investigation was not finished, but when it, is if any action is to be taken, it will be taken right away.

JUDGE DENIES EVERY MOTION FROM CASEY'S DEFENSE TEAM

Casey Anthony headed back to jail and her defense team headed back to square one. Her lawyers lost every ruling in court Thursday regarding evidence and proposed sanctions on prosecutors.

Casey walked into the courtroom Thursday afternoon wearing a white Cardigan sweater and had her hair pulled back in a bun. She sat down and smiled as she waited for the hearing to begin. Casey sat fidgeting, not wearing the red lipstick she had ordered from the jail's commissary last week.

The hearing began at 3:35pm and lasted approximately 90 minutes.

Casey seemed more subdued in her manner and in her dress. But the usually subdued and laid back circuit Judge Stan Strickland appeared to lose patience with the defense team and he ended up not giving them anything they wanted at the hearing.

Casey Anthony appeared to give her father a passing glance as she shook hands with one of her new defense attorneys Todd Macaluso. George and Cindy Anthony attended the hearing and at one point, appearing to cry, George wiped his eyes.

The lawyer representing Casey's family, Brad Conway, also made a motion to keep George Anthony's suicide note a secret. The judge granted that motion.

George Anthony does not want his pain to be paraded through his daughter's murder trial. His lawyer said it would be even more embarrassing than everything else that has happened to them.

It was a tough day for her defense team.

Linda Kenney Baden wanted the judge to order the prosecutors to hand over the FBI's bench notes from the DNA testing it did on the evidence. The judge didn't do that because prosecutors don't have them and the judge has no jurisdiction over the FBI outside of Florida.

The judge told the defense to ask the FBI for the evidence. The defense wanted the judge to sanction prosecutors for allegedly keeping evidence from them and concealing the experts who examined the trash bag and a paper towel from Casey's car from the witness list.

The evidence was at labs when the defense team had made an appointment to see her car.

"The motion for sanctions is denied." said Judge Strickland.

Thursday's hearing comes on the heels of another brewing battle over jail video of Casey Anthony the day Caylee's remains were found on December 11.

Casey's defense team also wanted all computer evidence from her ex-lover Ricky Morales, who according to investigators had deleted files the day he turned it over to officers. Investigators say Morales had a page in his computer when he was dating Casey that read "Win her over with chloroform."

Morales thought the page was funny, but said Casey could have seen it. The FBI said there was evidence of an unusually strong concentration of chloroform in Casey's car trunk where Caylee's body had been.

Baez hopes to have another hearing over his concerns about a jail recording of him and Casey Anthony the day Caylee's remains were found, December 11.

The cameras in jail are visible and none of them record audio, still Baez believes it violated her rights to be videotaped at a public facility.
