Man allegedly slaps wife over presidential election, faces charges

  • comment(11)

A 74-year-old south Florida man is facing charges for allegedly slapping his wife during an argument about the upcoming presidential election.

Peter Schwartz tried to explain the incident to a judge on Wednesday.

"You like Romney that means I don't like you. I said 'I didn't say I don't like Romney,'" said Schwartz.

He said it was just a misunderstanding and that he loves his wife more than his own life.

Still, the judge ordered Schwartz to stay at least 500 feet away from his wife at all times for now.
