2 motorcycle officers injured in crash during Obama's motorcade

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. —

Shortly after President Barack Obama’s motorcade left a fundraiser in Lake Mary on Tuesday, two police motorcycle officers crashed at the intersection of Lake Mary Boulevard and Tournament Drive.

The Florida Highway Patrol said an Orlando Police Department motorcycle officer rear-ended a Seminole County Sheriff’s deputy.

Both officers, whose names were not released, were injured when they were thrown from their bikes, FHP said. But they said the extent of their injuries was not serious.

They were patrolling the rear of the President’s motorcade, so the accident did not slow down the President’s departure.
