SANFORD, Fla. —
Calls made to 911 by Trayvon Martin’s father hours after the 17-year-old’s death were released on Wednesday.
Martin’s father, not knowing that his son was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, called police worried about his son.
Martin's father, Tracy Martin, called 911 more than 10 hours after his son was killed by George Zimmerman, not knowing at the time that his son was dead.
Tracy Martin was worried that his son didn’t come home, and he wanted to file a missing person’s report.
In a second call, police called Tracy Martin back and asked for a description of Trayvon.
“I have a nephew up here,” Tracy Martin said to dispatchers. “But he’s not at my nephew house. He hasn’t been over there, either.”
By the time police called Tracy Martin back, Trayvon’s body had been recovered at the scene where Zimmerman shot him, although he had not yet been identified.
