Police arrested a man who they said was involved in a hit-and-run crash in a Publix parking lot off of Rock Springs Road in Apopka Friday night.

Officials said 24-year-old Julian Garcia veered off the road and into the parking lot for an unknown reason. He crashed into multiple parked vehicles during the incident, according to police.

Police said Garcia ran from the scene and was later located hiding behind a tree nearby. He initially refused to cooperate with officers and was found to be in possession of marijuana, investigators said.

Garcia had to be taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries before being booked into the Orange County jail.

Investigators arrested Garcia on charges of resisting an officer and possession of marijuana.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said more charges are pending.
