ORLANDO, Fla. —
Crews are hard at work Tuesday morning, cleaning up after a big New Year's Eve celebration in downtown Orlando.
Thousands of partygoers packed Church and Wall streets Monday night to watch the Big Orange fall at midnight.
Crews on Wall Street worked all day Monday to prep for a block party, which was expected to bring in 5,000 people.
On Church Street, just as many, if not more, turned out for the New Year’s Eve celebrations.
“It's so busy. It's so packed and there's so many people around,” said partygoer Tegan Rego. “It's awesome.”
Among the controlled chaos, dozens of police officers and private security firms made their presence known to keep the crowds under control, but some people got out of hand.
WFTV learned several people were charged with disorderly conduct for fighting, while others were charged for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
In all, 55 people were booked into the Orange County Jail between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., authorities said.
