ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —
Bob Ward, who was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Friday, was hospitalized on Saturday after taking a large amount of pills, according to jail officials.
Officials said a corrections officer noticed Ward appeared to be ill Saturday morning. Ward subsequently admitted to ingesting a large amount of Ibuprofen pills.

WFTV learned Ward was able to communicate with officers as he was rushed to a local hospital. Ward remained hospitalized Saturday night at an undisclosed location. Jail officials won’t release the name of the hospital where he was being treated, due to security reasons.
The incident is not officially being called a suicide attempt, officials said.
Inmates are allowed to buy certain things from the jail commissary, including Ibprofen, and are allowed to keep them in their cells, according to jail officials.
Ward will have to serve at least 25 years in prison before he qualifies for probation.
