Residents in a Brevard County neighborhood are trying to figure out why nothing has been done about a home that is falling apart and filled with trash.

The house at 370 Ronald Street near Port St. John doesn't just look bad it smells bad too.  It's filled with trash and debris left rotting in the Florida sun.

When the wind direction changes, a different neighbor has to smell it.

"You take decent care of your property, and look at this. You gotta get up in the morning and look at  this, and nobody is doing a darn thing about it," neighbor Donna Carpino said.

Neighbors said the last owner, Ronald Dunbar, left town suddenly, leaving his clothes still in the closet.

WFTV discovered Citi Bank foreclosed on the property in 2009, but dropped the foreclosure suit after determining the property wasn't worth it.

Neighbors said they have called Brevard County Code Enforcement, but have never seen an officer come by.

"I've screamed my head off at these people until they never want to hear my name again," neighbor Alta Prosceno said.

No one has lived in the house since 1997, according to neighbors. The lawn is mowed because the neighbors were so concerned about the mosquitoes and snakes, they started taking care of it themselves.

It's been this way so long even the street view on Google maps shows it in disrepair with a sign reading, "I stink" hanging from the front.

WFTV contacted the county to find out if Code Enforcement has ever been out to look at the property, but has not received a response.

One neighbor said they believe no one will ever buy the property because it will cost more to clean it up than it will ever be worth.
