MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. —
A busted fire hydrant temporarily shut down State Road 3 on Merritt Island Monday.
Brevard County deputies said a car crashed into the hydrant, and flooded the area.
According to deputies, the driver was turning onto Skylark Avenue when she turned too wide and hit the hydrant.
The driver was not hurt.
Skylark Avenue was closed while crews cleaned up.
