ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —
The family of Isleworth millionaire Bob Ward, who was found guilty of killing his wife, appeared on national TV to profess his innocence.
Ward was convicted of second-degree murder in September for the 2009 death of his wife, Diane.
On Friday morning, Ward's daughter and sister-in-law were on national television, alongside his attorney.
Ward's sister-in-law Paula Saare said she believes the widespread outrage over the Casey Anthony verdict influenced the jury to convict him.
"People in Florida were rabid over that case, and I don't care what happened next, there was not going to be a fair trial," said Saare. "I think that had an impact definitely."
Ward is serving a 30-year prison sentence.
His attorneys have filed an appeal.
