KISSIMMEE, Fla. —
Osceola County Sheriff's deputies said they charged nine people, including several teenagers, with rioting during an incident involving illegal drug activity.
Deputies were called to West Mabrisa Way in Kissimmee on Jan. 6 following a call about an armed disturbance.
When they arrived, Stephanie Brannan, 30, told them six men came to her house and began arguing with her boyfriend, Angel Torres-Bonet, 20, about money.
The group was later identified as Omar Harris, 17; Emmanuel Rios, 16; Robert Roman, 15; Michael Miranda-Segarra, 17; Jose Manuel Chaparro, 17; Gamalier Marrero-Aponte, 20, and Edwin Rivera, 18.
When the group refused to leave, Brannan told deputies she fired a gun multiple times and threatened to shoot them.
But after further investigation, detectives said they found the incident involved a drug transaction and that Torres-Bonet fired the gun near the six suspects.
Detectives said Torres and Brannan lied to them during their initial statements, and both were arrested for providing false information to law enforcement and bonded out of jail.
On Thursday, Rivera and Brannan were charged with rioting and booked into the Osceola County Jail.
Harris, Rios, Roman, Miranda-Segarra and Chaparro were arrested and taken to the Orange County Juvenile Detention Center.
Investigators are still searching for Torres-Bonet and Marrero-Aponte on felony rioting charges.
In addition to rioting, Torres-Bonet also faces a discharging a firearm in public charge.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Osceola County Sheriff's Office at 407-348-2222 or CrimeLine at 800-423-TIPS.
Calls made to Crimeline remain anonymous, and tips that lead to the felony arrest of suspects and/or the recovery of stolen property and drugs are eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000.
