Housekeeper accused of stealing $350K ring

A south Florida house cleaner is in jail because she's accused of stealing a $350,000 diamond ring from her employer.

The owners of the 11-carat diamond ring hired a private investigator because they weren't sure if the ring was lost or stolen.

Martin County deputies said the ring was stolen by their maid, Cody Mejias, who sold it to a jewelry store for $4,800.

She told authorities she took it because she needed the money to feed her children.

When the store owner saw news reports about the ring, he got suspicious and called investigators.
