Authorities have identified a gas station clerk who was shot and killed behind the counter late Thursday night in Palm Coast.

Deputies said the victim, Zuheily Roan Rosado, 32, was found at a Mobile gas station on East State Route 100.

A friend told WFTV Rosado was a single mother who worked hard to provide for her six children.

"She was a good mom, working a lot of hours to support her kids," said former co-worker Ray Tange.

Deputies and a K-9 arrived at the scene and searched for a suspect, but no one was taken into custody. Investigators said they do not think the crime was random.

Investigators said surveillance video shows a light-skinned man about 5 feet 10 inches tall entering the store wearing blue jeans and a dark T-shirt.

The man was seen in the video pulling his shirt up over his face. Moments later, he was seen fleeing the store and heading west towards the northbound entrance ramp to Interstate 95.

Channel 9 has learned Rosado's significant other broke down when he got to the scene.

"She was a very, very nice woman. She was young, punctual, she was honest and she worked for me about three years," said Mobile store owner Rizzi Ansari.

The owner said cash that was next to the safe was left untouched, and investigators believe Rosado was targeted.

Channel 9 found court records showing Rosado has had problems with two exes. Two years, ago, she tried to get a restraining order against one of them, the man who fathered at least one of her six children.

Rosado wrote to the judge that the ex was verbally abusive and threatened to "take the kids from the bus stop."
