POLK COUNTY, Fla. —
Polk County sheriff deputies are investigating a deadly accident that shut down a portion of Interstate 4 Wednesday night.
A spokesperson for the sheriff's office said the driver of a motorcycle tried to flee from deputies after they tried to pull him over Wednesday night.
The motorcyclist then crashed, and was killed, according to deputies.
The accident caused heavy back-ups for almost 10 miles.
Officials have not said exactly what caused the crash.
