Seminole school lockdown lifted, standoff ends

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. —

Teague Middle School was on lockdown Tuesday afternoon, according to the Seminole County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies said a suicidal man with a firearm in the front yard of a nearby residence on Melody Lane was the cause of the lockdown.

According to deputies, children were being kept inside the school and a reverse 911 call wass been issued to homes in the area.

At around 4 p.m. deputies began releasing students from the school.

By 4:30 p.m. deputies said the issue with the man had been resolved.

Deputies said the man was taken to the hospital with a minor injury.

Roads in the area were reopened and all of the children were released from the school.
