Detectives say a former Osceola County principal led a double life: educator by day, and drug addict by night.

WFTV has learned what initially sparked the investigation that led to his arrest. On Monday, dozens of pages of documents were released in the case against David Groover.

The documents include photos of the drugs, including GHB, which is commonly known as a date-rape drug, and meth. The drugs were found at the home of the former principal of Partin Settlement Elementary School, the documents indicate.

The documents also contain new details from an informant on wild sex parties prosecutors say occurred at Groover's house.

WFTV's Nancy Alvarez found out deputies started looking into Groover because of a sexual assault allegation.

In late May, a 19-year-old man filed a sexual battery complaint against Groover. He told detectives they met online and shared sexually explicit text messages. The teen said when he went to Groover's home for sex, he was offered drugs.

Those claims opened the door to an investigation that included an informant who told detectives he had been doing drugs with Groover for at least two years. He even described driving to an unknown location in College Park in Orange County to buy GHB and meth.

These are just some of what detectives say Groover did when he wasn't at work.

"Did you guys hear Mr. Groover got in trouble?" WFTV asked students at Partin Settlement.

"Yes, Yes!"they replied.

The father of two boys who attend  Partin Settlement said Groover always seemed friendly and dedicated to his students. But now the principal's arrest is forcing Vladimir Nicolas to have a serious talk with his boys.

"I will talk to them. Make sure they are OK and also teach them the proper way in life," said Nicolas.

Groover first made headlines in 2009 when he was arrested for driving under the influence.

At the time of his most recent arrest, the district had just ordered Groover to take sensitivity training after staff members accused him of harassment.
